i know their fuel is cheaper to buy but the fuel economy figures uoted are horendous... most were stating low teens or less and one was 2 MPG!!!  :shock: tho i thinks thats for a boeing 747...  i drive ( till next week) a 95 defender 300tdi and get around 30 on average.. so even with the better cost i dont think its too much cheaper if you drive a yank truck

is that 90% of the Yanks still have no idea or care about the environment, they are the ones that should be paying higher prices, Ive never actually know a group of fossil fuel users more aware of prices, usage and alternative fuels than the seriouse 4x4 drivers in the UK.

Thats whats makes me a bit annoyed at the so called educated "greens" we are the ones driving forward alternatives, LPG fuels, Bio Diesel etc, its the bloomin' numptess who drive 4x4's as a status symbol, not us lot that drive a 4x4 as a way of life, recycle parts, etc. its a great shame they target all of us and not those who just drive a 4x4 just because its cool..( what on earth is the Porche Cayenne about, what an absolute waste of space that is, you coul dalos agrgue some top spec Rangies that never see anything execept Chelsea.

Its a vote breaker sadly in the US, lets not forget 80% of them cant place themselves on a map, think Iraq is where Australia is and that France should be next just because.......muppets..

The american geographical or current affairs knowledge I would not argue about. However you obviously do not understand their culture too well. They all believe that it is their right to drive an automobile and have cheap fuel. A blinkered view admitted, but when you take into account the sheer size of the place, if you cant afford to fly, you have to drive, as public transit is virtually non existent unless you are in a major city.

Please tell me who the idiots are. Us for just accepting everything, or them for making everyone know that they will not vote you back in and protest if you take away what they consider a right of passage. And for also thinking that their country comes first.?
