Getting a bit rough here as well.  Just been out with the dogs.  Really struggled to walk down the lane against the wind and horizontal rain, and in the wood it's deafening.

It's chucking it down up here and the wind is just starting to get going. Now at around 45-50 mph.
The pressure is dropping like a stone, I've been online for 40 minutes and the pressure was 982 when I started and is now readin 977.3 millibars. 5 millibars in 40 minutes is one hell of a drop and it's been like that since we got home from work.
Looking at the latest satellite picture at 2300 UTC it looks like the sting in the tail will hit here a bit later them the met office thought. So looks like we're in for a noisy night of it.
Still, the fires going nicely and we've got torches & parafin lamps on stand-by.  :wink:

Oops, lights starting to flicker!!
Pressure's now dropped to 976.5 while I was writing this.

Think I better post this as the lights are flickering quite bad now.
Catch you all tomorrow night when I'm in work and I'll let you know how it went.  :wink:

Well we got some strong winds here in North Yorkshire but it did not take my shed roof of this year or drop it in next doors garden...lol

Don't know what all the fuss was about. Nothing more than a normal storm for up here really. :D

Highest average wind speed was 47 knots (54mph) and the highest gust was 68 knots (78mph) recorded at 4am. After that it was all over and the system has disapated into the Northern North Sea.

No damage, no leaks in the roof, power stayed on, just a bit of a noisy night that's all. Not sure how the rest of the country faired though. :?

But............If that WAS the remains of one of the US hurricanes then we may have a few more to come before too long and winter hasn't even started yet!! :(scared):
