The latest is in the Shipping Forecast which is giving this for our area:

SOUTH OR SOUTHEAST 6 TO GALE 8, BECOMING CYCLONIC GALE SEVERE GALE 9
TO VIOLENT STORM 11, PERHAPS HURRICANE FORCE 12 LATER, THEN SOUTHWEST
6 TO GALE 8. RAIN THEN SHOWERS. MODERATE OR GOOD
We have a Severe Weather Warning in force saying:
Severe Gales Affecting Eilean Siar & Highland
Stormy conditions will develop this evening with gusts of 70-90mph. Eilean Siar and areas to the northwest of the Great Glen are at greatest risk where gusts up to 100mph are possible over mountains and exposed coasts. Strongest winds will occur between 9pm Monday evening and 3am Tuesday morning, decreasing thereafter.
What's causing it, well it's this little thing sneeking up the West coast of Ireland:

The Met Office online forecast for Devon yesterday morning showed -63 degrees celsius, snow and 212% cloud cover. I take it this was a "computer glitch" as it wasn't quite that bad on the moors...
