trick or treaters

When I was a young scoundrel in Wickersley, Rotherham, in the 70's/80's, we always had mischievous night (night before bonfire night) do you guys in Yorkshire know if this is still happening or has this "trick or treating" rubbish taken over?

At least the pumpkin type party was held at someone elses house
