Vehicle & Technical > Defender
Damn things broken down twice in 2 Weeks!!!
Xtremeteam:
--- Quote from: "V8MoneyPit" ---When we called the LR dealer about squealing brakes on the Freelander, they told us not to drive in, they would send someone out. I guess it is a legal issue. They don't want to tell you to drive a vehicle to them that might lead to legal action against them if it fails on it's way and kills someone. I don't suppose they would worry about a dodgy interior light, but anything that affect brakes or steering and they panic!

thats funny,
the local stealer to me told a women with a freebie that the pads were fine when they serviced it & 2 days later it started to make a grinding noise, she phoned them up & thewy said its fine to drive for now & we wont be able to look at it for 2 weeks,
25 minutes later it was on the ramp getting pads & discs at an independant & the bill going to landrover

Quite impressed actually.
Technician turned up after about 1 Hour, had a quick look, decided what parts he need. Came back a couple of hours later with all the parts, took im ten minutes to replace the tensioner pulley, and fit the belt.
:D

same thing happened on the 300TDi disco with the belt, replaced it and nothing happened again..... I put it down to a faulty belt that only lasted 2 months
