Weekend before last the Starter Motor decided to die, took Farnells nearly a week to fix it!!

Now the Belt on the Engine has split and disintergrated, leaving me with no electric, and minimal brakes and steering!!!. And believe me a TD5 110 with 35" Mud Tyres is heavy VERY heavy on steering and brakes, with no power assist!!!

I wouldn't mind but it's only 12 Months Old.

The tensioner pulley is siezed up solid, so it's another warranty job

Apparently there sending a technician out this time, so hopefully they can fix it in less time than it took them for the starter motor.

That's because they don't want all the mud on the workshop floor again.

When we called the LR dealer about squealing brakes on the Freelander, they told us not to drive in, they would send someone out. I guess it is a legal issue. They don't want to tell you to drive a vehicle to them that might lead to legal action against them if it fails on it's way and kills someone. I don't suppose they would worry about a dodgy interior light, but anything that affect brakes or steering and they panic!
