Deleted topic about dodgey tyres...

(1/2) > >>

BRO:
What happened to Jasons thread about his 240 miles was it? tyres that were failing. I presume the thread got deleted due to the manufacturer / supplier whatever not being able to sort out the problem and threatening the website!

What does it come to when we can't discuss poor products / shoddy service on Internet BBS? The supplier in question even made a reply so it wasn't as though they had no voice here! How are we to know who to avoid if we can't share this kind of info? - Are PM's the only way to share bad publicity about a particular manufacturer - it's a bit tedious...

Will we in future not be allowed to praise 'good' service because we are advertising one supplier / product and not another!

Just seems a bit 'off' to me

The topic hasn't been deleted, it has simply been hidden for a short period of time.

It was felt that the issue appears to be more complex than it initially appeared, and that in the interests of keeping the club out of a specific incident between a supplier and a customer, the decision was made to remove the posts from public view.

This wasn't a decision taken lightly, I can at least assure you of that.

That's the difficult thing with judgement calls, they're not easy even when you are aware of all of the facts :(

Hello  Bro, the problem with the said tyres has not gone away, things are moving although slowly,Im hoping to have some more news this week if not ,definatly next week .Its just a case of arranging things  meetings ect to suit all partys involved, this does nt include the well known company who I bought the tyres from, they just dont care, as soon as I can and with legal backing I will reveal all.............................Thanks Jason

BRO:
Thanks Datalas - that is reassuring. So we are not burying the topic just giving both parties a chance to sort out their differences whilst keeping the topic off view for the moment.

As a general rule what is the best way to go about getting advice from others on the board if we feel we have a serious complaint against a supplier or product.

Do we need to start with a 'generic' problem statement without mentioning the name?

A bit of a guide might be useful...

Hope it all turns out OK for you Jason.

Presumably Jason can post independant engineers finding in the case???

Mick

that's about the size of it :)
