Owning more than one Landy

(1/3) > >>

Spacemud:
Hi Folks,

I'm thinking of adding another Land Rover to the collection, I currently have a Discovery 200 Tdi. The only thing putting me off is the obvious extra expense but there seems to be plenty of you with more than one so I was wondering if there are any tips you could give on saving on things like tax, insurance, etc if I have two. How practical/expensive/cost effective would it be to run each for just 6 months of the year?

Cheers,

Spacemud

Andy the Landy:
Buy a tax exempt Series or Range Rover, then send a PM to Barry Scott (Mud-clubs resident insurance guru) for a decent quote

Spacemud:
Cheers, what year does tax exempt start and does it change every year?

Spacemud

xmob:
Most Landie owners have two because they need a spares donor.   :D

Rolling tax exemption finished when our current leaders came to power.  I believe the cut off date is some time in 1971.   :?:

muddyweb:
1973 I believe.  (The first half of the year)

As for insurance, get a limited mileage policy.. as mentioned, talk to Barry Scott... he might well be able to get you a decent price.
