yer auld aunt nelly:
when i worked on the doors we had a doorman stabbed it was a hour an half before they turned up.Being too busy it being a wednesday night and all!! The door man in question was waiting for a cab outside the hospital by the time they turned up to question him

Next time you need them in a hurry say that you think you saw a gun...that will bring them running in a flash.[/quote]

Don't think that will make any difference, when i had a smackhead by the throat who had damaged our car & his mate in ther car produced a gun & told me to let him go my wife was on a 999 call at the time & it still took them nearly two hours,

As ever, without knowing the full details of the case, it is hard to comment... but don't necessarily be too quick to blame the actual force.

Our local post office was robbed at gunpoint and the police took 2 hours to arrive....   all manner of complaints were raised and it transpires that the problems were in the call centres and not within the Police services themselves.

Part of the problem is that our Police aren't 'local' any more

barmiebrumie:
Yes i know what you'r saying Tim, some of them who work in the call centers are ''wanabe police officers'',  if you know what i mean, i'm not having a go at the police as i wouln't want there job & i have family in the force its just the system on a whole that stinks,

John.
