putting a snorkel on my series 3
Xtremeteam:
throw the S3 oil bath filter in the skip be it for a petrol or diesel & get a 90/110 paper element filter & housing & use that as a basis for your snorkel,it only has one pipe in & one pipe out & a bung on the bottom that you seal up anyway,
see here for some more info on how to fit a 90 air box http://forums.mud-club.com/viewtopic.php?t=10058
MattW:
Awesome - I may be changing my mind on snorkels after a day at Tixover yesterday where I had to sit and watch everyone else drive through the water because it was too deep for us to chance it.
Miniman:
Good to see you got the Idea now. It's not worth the hastle letting your engine drink water they prefer fuel. They choke on water and sometime drown and die. I had fit my snorkel to my landy and as soon as I got onsite I thought I have never had a chance to go into the water so today is the day.....
Big mistake... First in...First stuck and wet feet... Just ask jimthelandyman he was watching all of it....
I did not take into account that you have to let the big boys go in first to stur up the silt at the bottom. It felt like I was floating then it felt like I was stuck...and I was for about 30 seconds whilst the water gushed in and all over my feet....GOD IT WAS COLD....
Was funny eh jim.....?
Tell them how it looked from your angle...
jimthelandyman:
it was very funny watchin miniman as he was sat there in the drink with water flooding in!!!
