Rear end vibration

<< < (2/3) > >>

Disco Inferno:
i'd've said that work shocker mounts would cause more of a rattle than a vibration.

try checkign the wheel bearings and prop shaft uj's

Range Rover Blues:
I had this with a bent propshaft, that in turn happened when the rear diff collapsed at speed.

drmike:
Can't you hold the shock still using one of those belt oil filter removal tools. I know I use a chain type oil removal wrench to hold the shock while I undo the bottom nut but that does sometimes mark the shocker.

Last time I had to use stilsons and that did crush the casing rather  :)

waveydavey:
Where the stud comes out the end of the shocks there should be aset of flats to get a spanner onto to stop them turning. Not always very successful but they should be there.

That said the rubbers would normally outlast the shocks very easily.

Wanderer:
If you need the rubbers replacing you should be able to get them from your local independant supplier. I bought some for mine and they were literally pence. Something like 35p each.
