I keep seeing another 50th Disco running around near the estate I live in. Its an R reg but looks in good condition.

Also, a few weeks ago, parked the Disco out of the way at a local retail park and when we came back to the car another 50th Disco was parked next to it. The chap who owned it chatted with me for about 20 mins until the kids got totally bored.

Sogster.

Excellent, keep it going, but remember the camera next time

I've seen 3 today!

First one was a FreeLander 5-door, but on checking the registration against my image file, I already know it
I saw it about 10:30 passing under the flyover of M62/jct 32, as I stood at the traffic-lights at the bottom of the east-bound off slip-road.
It was heading into the 'Xscape' retail park

Second one was another FreeLander.
Once more it was a known vehicle, this was seen about 11:30 on the A655 heading into Normanton Industrial Estate adjacent to M62/jct 31
(I think this one is local to me?)

Number 3 was a Discovery, & a new one to me according to the number-plate.
R7 KCV

I was parked at WestGate station in Wakefield waiting for Joanne, as she'd been to Birmingham on business (that's my 110 in the photo)
The owner came back, we passed brief words on it before he departed.
He seemed slightly bemused that I'd swapped my Anniversary for the 110 (some people have no idea  )
He'd only had it about 3months & was very happy with it

Interesting Fact?

There were only 50 US specification 50th Anniversary Discovery built.

This limited edition was shared between the USA & Canadian markets, they were finished in Woodcote Green & carried a numbered brass plaque

Given the amount of time he'd had it, I would have considered asking where  he'd got it from (was it my old one?), but I'd already checked out certain identifying details before he came back to it.
Therefore I knew it wasn't my old one, without asking or looking at the VIN plate

I saw the originator of this thread for the first time in ages this morning at the bottom of Heath Common (to the south of Wakefield)

Then, lo & behold!!
Less than 15 minutes later, I saw R7 KCV on Ings Road, near Sainsburys

Two 50ths in a day is still quite surprising

Saw a 50th Discovery today

It was a new one to me, but if I'd tried to turn round & chase it, I'd have probably lost it.
It was registered as S920 ??? (I think), & was spotted on the A162 (the old Tadcaster/FerryBridge turnpike) between Sherburn-in-Elmet & the roundabout with the A63

My local dealer has a 50th Defender 90 for sale.  How rare are they?  What's the going price for one in the U.K. (assuming excellent condition)?

For the homemarket, 375 were built.
In good condition you could see £14,000 - 15,000 (UK Sterling)
I'm not too sure about overseas markets

if you are interested, my advice is to join James (can't remember his surname  ) site

After a literal famine of 50ths, I've spotted Discoverys in 2 days

One was at IKEA at Gildersone (jct 27/M62) on Tuesday afternoon at about 17:00, it was registered something like 'R ??? ROB'

I saw the other this morning near Castleford, once more it was a ew one to me.
Sdaly I wasn't in a position to photgraph either of them

Spotted 2 Discoverys today at Driffield (at the 'Spring Adventure')

T736 YVO was in the day visitor parking & D8 HUL was in the exhibitor parking/camping area

Plus a Defender-50th (image not yet uploaded) 'M18 CYL'

Then I saw one of the local 50th FreeLanders on the way home 'H9 WAR' (this is in the 1st Annivesary album) just coming under the M62 as I got off at the local junction.

I'll be honest I can't say I've seen many V8 50ths.
The last one I saw was also a manual

All being said, they're simply seen as 'just another Discovery' by most of the (non-specialist) trade now. Those 'in the know' may knock the price up a bit, but not excessively
(only a 1000 were produced to that specification)

At that price, if it's local, I'd be tempted to go & at least look!

Hi Richard

Try this - it's a bit dusty in the side shot. If you want a decent quality photo I'll have to email it to you.

It had a personal plate on it when I bought it in January and this had been changed to R778 KSX when I picked it up. I put R60 MUD on it a month or so later.

It's done 78k and standard apart from the diff and steering guards I've put on + a gas steering damper, slotted and drilled disks and the other mods under my signature. The front bumper and valance is coming off and will be replaced with a heavy duty front bumper but I'll store the original so that it can be put back on in the future.

Many will no doubt disapprove of any mods at all to a 50th but, apart from the side exit exhaust, everything has really been done to protect the vehicle from mishaps when doing gentle offroading
