I had an odd one once selling a car on eBay.  Romanian chap wanted to buy it, and seemed fine on the phone, but I got cc'd on a mail sent from him to some chamber of commerce in Romania and it all started to get very surreal.

The risk of getting stung outweighs the benefits to me so I just walked away.  If anything sounds doubtful I'll leave it - there are plenty of good buyers out there, so why take the risk of a dubious one?

had something similar but was from albania not romania.
Got all the normal "I like your item very much and i bid on it with your aproval. yes?" mail and then started sending mails about how his agent in the UK would need to view the car and he would offer over the asking price if i shipped to albania or could this guys agent collect etc

eventualy just sent him a mail saying that the car would not be going anywhere untill all funds had cleared.

Strangley enougth never heard from him again
