2.5NA

I wonder if someone can answer this.....

I have been offered a 90 with a 2.5na engine.........However the engine is shot !
So
Is it possible to drop in a 200Tdi engine ?  is it a straight swap or do I have to remove /remodel engine mounts/ cut the floor pan up ?
If memory serves me right the 200Tdi is usually partnered by the LT 77 box.
Would this be the same box as fitted with the 2.5na block?
or would i need to source a g/box as well to suit the 200Tdi engine

I await your answers

Cheers
Paul

I have been looking at a 200tdi conversion as well.
From asking around,
The engine mounts for the 2.5 will also accommodate the 200 tdi
It should bolt straight on to the LT77 Box

If the 200tdi is from a defender the exhaust should fit fine however if it is from a disco then the turbo is lower down and will need a bit of engineering to get the exhaust to fit.

V8_redline7500 has just done a conversion, he may be able to add more info.

just thoought id pop in,

just done a disco 200tdi into my Na 90 bout 2 weeks ago, engine mounts line up straight in,so does all the bellhousing bolts, use bolts insted of studs or vice versa BUT put all them in,the hardest bit about the conversion has to be the exhaust as i basically stated at the front & worked my way back choping & welding to make a new system, although mine is loads different to the standard system anyways,
you dont "have" to cut the bulkhead but a took a large section out basically to give more room & have a larger air gap betwen the exhaust n footwell,

any more Q's drop me a pm & ill give you my No
