FUEL PRICES
Manicminer:
Still on 97.9 p/l here at the moment.
They blame the price hike on the storms at the moment, a month or two ago they were blaming it on the workers in the Mexican Gulf for being on strike for the last 2 years because they need a pay rise.
What will the excuse be next week?

Sounds like you've given up before the battle commences. The government are meant to look after our interests

Not at all, but as I said earlier... whether you like the way the country is run or not... it costs a certain amount of money to do so... that money comes from taxes. We might all get our way and get a fuel tax cut, but another tax will go up to make up the deficit.
All this angry feeling toward the government is fine and dandy, but they aren't the ones making the fuel price rise at the moment. Yes, they are collecting tax, and theorectically, they could reduce tax and effectively absorb the price increases on our behalf... but that's another issue.
