Yes.. and for better or worse, that money goes into the exchequer and pays for other things in the country... it's not perfect by any means.. but the fact remains that if you suddenly loose all that income, you have to find it elsewhere or make a lot of expenditure cuts.... and they will do either, or both.
The only solution is to start again from scratch, but you can't do that in the real world.

I remember the last protest/blockade... our eldest had gone out and not been seen for about 4 hours - I think he was about 7 or 8 at the time.
ALL the local kids and neighbours were out helping us look for him.
Phoned the police to be told they can't do anything at the moment as all their officers are manning petrol stations.

Agree- maybe we all should all run planes thereby negating the tax issue of fuel :roll:
