Wings the same before and after 1995?
« on: September 01, 2005, 11:30:46 »
Discovery wings crop up on ebay all the time and as some of you know I need a replacement NS wing.  Trouble is, will a pre 95 wing (e.g. 200Tdi) fit a post 1995 (e.g. 300Tdi) discovery? The two cars look different from the front due to the grills and the lights, but what about the wing itself?
Cheers

The 300 indicator unit fits straight on to a 200 wing. So unless they have altered anything nearer the doors I'd say that they would fit.

They seem to have a different part number.
One up to LA08 and then another from MA
Is the S1 300 still under LA08?

I think it is something to do with one of the fittings ! But apart from that it should fit! I keep a spare drivers wing for mine! and i think that is a 300! and it does'nt matter whether 3 or 5 door either!

If you want to pop over and take some measurements from mine you're welcome. I'm near Basford Hall College.
Mine is a 93 KA.

Thanks Ed.  If a suitable wing comes up I'll pop over to you to make sure it'll fit before bidding. Still hoping that one will come up in the right colour so I don't have to bother respraying. Someone was breaking exactly the same car as mine at Malvern...only thing they didn't seem to have was the wings.

That opens up another question, was your colour available for 200 series Discoverys?

Yes I think so.  Montpellier Red.  I've seen a couple of 200Tdis around in my colour, although most of the time it seems to be M-reg 300Tdis.
