Well, the obvious thing with this is to make sure the battery is in good nick, and that the terminals are all tight and clean. Also, check your earth strap connections to the engine / chassis / battery.

Yeah tried putting jump leads to all over the starter, body and engine back to the negative terminal nothing. Its just had a brand new battery from good old Halfords because I originally thought it was the battery as well. Must be the actual motor so i've got one off ebay for £15. I know the terminals are clean and tight because it attached the winch to them a while ago.
And I've tried having the winch off no difference.
anyone know where I can get free wheeling hubs for a vitara cheap. That solves the bearing problem. I really can't be arsed to have the axle off again so i'll just wait till next time it snaps lol then change the bearing as well. sourced some parts cheap for the brakes but its getting time to get it done lol.

Milners do FWH's. about £50, get the manual one's tho', tried the auto ones on my Pajero broke 3 before changing them for the manuals, no probs since!
or
try a scrappy coz both the Wee Beastie and the wifes' 4uj has them as standard!
