crap day but you gotta laugh

Duncan Brown:
Poor you

You want to do what we did, jack it all in and move to the Isle of Skye. The kids up here are a different breed of aminmal entirely. Polite, chatty, with a minimum of swearing, and if you still get stressed out theres always the whisky.

Sounds like you need a holiday, a nice spot of B&B in Scotland should see you right. Strangley enough we just happen to run a B&B. Drop us a line if you'd like to get a bit of clean mountain air, no traffic queues (except behind caravans), and plenty of the aforementioned whisky.

Chin up don't let the bug*****s get you down

TULL:
Kid , i teach primary now and again for supply, would not have patience for the big-uns.

Andy the Landy:
They would have to bring back the birch and corporal punishment before I would even consider teaching - its bad enough yelling at them on the microphone on a coach for a couple of hours let alone a full shift, I applaud you Bob for the career you do =D>

Wanderer:
When I was a lad.....

The board rubber bouncing off the top of your napper was enough to quieten you down.
We also had teachers that would walk into a class and make an issue of laying out a thrre tongued strap on the front of their desk.

Nobody messed them about and if they did the deterent was used.
Scottish schools tended to be a lot stricter. Having attended scholls in England and Scotland.

There's always been unruly kids (to a degree) it's just they are worse and any forms of punishment are ineffective.

Kids are brought up to think they can do no wrong and that if they do no one will be able to do anything about it.

Bob696:
well thanks guys .. I really do feel much better now. Of course , as well as your kind comments, 8 cans of John Smiths helps

I actualy enjoy the work more than I have ever enjoyed any of my prvious careers (chef, merchent navy , archeologist, electronics engineer and multimedia design self employed thingy). Its the good kids that make it worth wile, the Year 11 kids that walk upto you in the street and grab your hand and say "thank you". I think this is the John Smiths talking   I will be snivling soon

Duncan ... funny you should mention the isle of skye ... we should be camping there about tuesday 26th as part of our grand tour of scotland ... fancy getting a bit sqwiffy ???    Cant in all honesty go for the B&B as we have spent so much time getting the camper ready for the holiday but not averse to being introduced to the local brew    and if you know a good campsite....
