EXPLOSIONS IN LONDON!
davidlandy:
Very Lucky Gary
I was supposed to be in London today but cried off on Tuesday - my route too would had put me on the tube from Kings Cross to Holborn just before 9am.
Frightening - loads of people from our HQ at Holborn use the tube and we are waiting to hear that all are ok.
Xtremeteam:
just heard on the news that they are gonna do a controlled explosion on a bus in princess street in edinburgh as ther is/appears to be a bomb/explosive device aboard
hobbit:
My neighbour was warned when he went back to work on the buses in Nottingham to be aware of un-attended parcels and baggage
This is something people should be aware of, if you see something that is left with no obvious person in charge, dont be afraid to alert someone to it, albeit some one in the shop, or an official if out in the open street
Although it is not known if this was suicide or parcel type bombs, dont think this could only happen in london, it can be anywhere from a village to any city. Even around military establishments, they will be on alert too
fram:
The problem is even if you are on the lookout for suspect packages bombs these days the size of a cigarette packet can do no end of damage. How many of us would look twice at what apeared to be an empty cigarette packet on the floor of a bus or train?
I went on a SITO security course a couple of years ago and some of the thing wo were shown that had been used to plant bombs were unbelievable, anything from push bikes to childrens cuddly toys!
They really are VERY evil people that do this sort of thing.
Guy90:
I walked past the BMA building at about 09:00 this morning. If it had been yesterday when I was later I would have been right there!
As it was I was walking up Southampton Row towards Euston when it went off about 500 metres away. There was quite a loud but muffled bang and I saw the roof lifting up into the air. the sight thereafter was a little grim.
I was advised by my senior officers to make my way to Custom House but as it was a long walk back though the centre I stayed at Euston for a couple of hours. The news has said there was chaos and gridlock etc. Not where I was! In the end I went and had lunch in the pub and was able to get a train out of London. Having arrived at Euston around 10:15 I finally got home at 20:00.
But I did get home!!
