Paint colour on coil springs
« on: July 05, 2005, 23:36:33 »
My springs have a green stripe paint on them.  I have seen other springs with different coloured stripes  What does it mean.

They are the identifying marks for the springs... they indicate the vehicle fitment (and hence the spring rates, etc.)

There are a load of different colour combinations.

Thanks again Paul

Looking at the info it explains why my Rangy looks low. Its got the shortest springs on!!

I think these are the ones I need bearing in mind I tow a largeish caravan

NTC3285  RR '87-'91  Rear left *  17.13  180  10.21  green/pink
NRC8113  RR '87-'91  Rear right *  16.47  180  8.75  pink/purple

Am i right in presuming the different lenghts are to accomodate the camber on the road and the driver

the driver and the fact that the engine is lopsided.  make sure those aren't LHD springs you have chosen from the list.  Most RHD cars have the same springs at the rear.
