300TDI Snorkel fitment
« on: September 27, 2010, 22:21:00 »
Evening boys & girls
A work mate of mine from has asked me for advice to help him fit a Safari Snorkel to his 300TDI,  He hasn't as yet ordered one because he tells me there are 2 types availiable? one for abs & one with out?  it seems he's not sure which one he should buy, I know it's obvious, but my mate Alan is not the most technically minded bloke & it's been quite some time since I starred at 300tdi engine too.

Can anyone advise me on a easy way to spot the difference between the two setups?

Many Thanks

Phil

P.s  Sorry Alan if your reading this, but i don't know the bloomin answer either!!

Big valve block between the washer bottle and air filter if its got abs, oh and a little light on the dash that says abs when he starts the engine!

It's more to do with where the airbox is - mine has the airbox setup for an ABS version but no ABS.

Paddock have diagrams on their website showing the two types, I was able to work it out from those.

The non-ABS version is shorter on the wing and has the twiddly pipe that runs at the back of the airbox ; the ABS version runs closer to the front of the car along the wing and has the kit to move the airbox back.
