Which do you think looks best
« on: April 22, 2005, 21:58:14 »
Hi all

I've got a 1990 110 County Station Wagon and am looking to replace the standard steel wheels with either eight spoke or modular wheels (I want some I don't need to use tubes on). I would prefer a set of 5 spoke alloys but can't afford them (unless anyone's got a set going cheap)

Which do you guys think look better (I've had opinions from several people and would like to know what you guys think).

Thanks

James

'Wolf'/130/S3 1-ton rims (personally I prefer the plain (un-holed) type

Modulars, but not white, either black (or body coloured)

I went with modulars.
I like the off set and i think they look nice
Wolf's would be my second choice
If i had enough spare cash though i'd get a set of Mach 5's

I like the eight spoke in grey, but modulars are nice too. Think i would hold out for the alloys. Paul has some on the stange rover you could buy that take of the wheels and then sell it again put the money back in the bank no one would ever no

I've been told that modulars can buckle  and white 8-spokes are, well, white.  I'd agree with the wolf rims, they really look the part.

PS if you're skint I have a set of Rostyles going cheap

Don't forget certain Alloys (& Rostyles) are not compatible with 110's

That is to say they are not weight-rated by LR, thus in the event of any claim by you that requires a vehicle examinaton, it gives a (valid) reason for not paying out.
