Fuel pump and filte change TD5
« on: June 28, 2010, 19:39:48 »
Hi all, have recently changed the fuel filter and pump on my 02 ts5 110, went throught the purge routine, ie ignition on, depress throttle five time, wait for it to do its thing with the engine light flashing, but each time it is parked for some time, like over night, the fuel system appears to have drained, stuttes when trying to start it through lack of fuel....

I have snipped the extra nipple on top of the pump open to put the eberspache fuel line in, but as yet have not reinstalled the fuel line for the eber, so this nipple is open to atmosphere at the moment.....

ANy suggestions?

Cheers

you havent missed or double seald the fuel filter have you ?
daft ino but its easily done.
fuel filter heads on td5's are prone to going porous and doing exactly what you describe but dont leak externially.
fuel regulators leak and drag air back into the system when not running.
you "could " have nicked a rubber seal on the push fittings aswel when fitting the new pump
