hay guys ive got a 200tdi disco engine in me 90 but the turbo is goin ive been thinkin about do ne other unit fit or is there ne upgrades or some thing hope some of u guys can help

I rebuilt mine, but it depends on if the turbine blades are damaged or not, mine was just bearings, you can get garret rebuild kits on ebay, the hardest part is getting the big circlips back in when putting the core back into the impeller housings cus the  new o-rings make it really really tricky, you'll need a big vice (ie opens up to at least 6") and some wood, I got my rebuild kit sent from the USA about £28 ish

thanks mate i was talkin to me bruv other day and he said he will rebuild it for me lol i forget he works in a garage lol so hav u got a 200 tdi disco lump in urs ??

No mines a defender 200Tdi, but the cores of the turbos are all the same

The chances are the turbine wheel wil probably be ok. The compressor wheel will be the one that takes the damage if any, and it usually takes your comp cover with it, if not then a fresh set of bearings and piston rings and it should be fine.

As I am guessing you dont have a high speed core balencing machine but you can bodge it by marking the alignment of the wheels before you strip it and assembling it all in the same orientation. Make sure to use the original impeller lock nut when doing this as they are balenced by grinding the nut, dont forget its a left hand thread. I cant remember the torque on the little garrets, I think its 4.5Nm or something like that.
