Anyone ever fitted a bulkhead repair pannel (as available from Paddocks etc?

Would be interested in the amount of work it takes etc.

I suspect I'll find a bit of rust behind the skin on the bulkhead proper. I can see into the motor looking though the holes

Once the skin is cut away do you just weld the repair piece in?

pretty much, depending on how ur repair style is from fitting it efficently or rebuilding the bulkhead   i wish i had taken pics of it now to show yous how i did it but its prety straight forward,i used a bit p40 fiber filler on the edge where the vent seal goes as ther was nothing left

I'm not going to do it myself as I can't weld. The worst areas are either side of the hinge and along the top of the vent (particualrly where the windscreen meets the top of the bulkhead but then some idiot at Land Rover thought it was a good idea to use a partucularly water absorabant material to seal between windscreen and bulkhead).

I know when I get the skin off I'll find rot in the top of the bulkhead (while propbing with a screwdriver I managed to push it though from the outside all the way though and into the door but will slap a load of Hammerite and some waxoly in there and leave it for a bit. Not getting into bulkhead replacement just yet.
