Classic Parts?
« on: January 28, 2005, 23:00:04 »
Phoned my local dealer today to inquire about some internal trim parts for the motor. They didn't have them listed on the normal list and had to refer to the Classic parts list

Is it really that old

Got a shock with one of the prices £69 quid for a Sonar Blue center console, I mean how many of these do they really expect to sell nowadays, they could at least reduce the price on so called Classic parts  :?:

I seem to remember when I met him with some paint a while back he had just collected a box full of spare trim, bought off ebay.

Mines OK just a bit grubby so I thought I'd just see how much they were  :?:

A mate's dad was quoted a grand for a Sierra 4x4 back seat once, I think that says "well we are supposed to stock them by law but we havn't really got any" don't you?

popped in to book in my Disco and got told, sorry we can't do yours too old    (i have a 93' 200TDi)

sorry as it aint got an on-board computer we cannot service it as we need the computer to tell us what to topup/change

great, so I ask what about my mates 96' 300TDi, erm no, thats too old as well

flipping good service wot?

went to my local independent later that week and was told that they had picked ALOT of work up from the main dealers because of this age limit and the independant was cheaper as well  :D
