Driveline problem
« on: December 26, 2007, 18:02:11 »
Ok there seem's to be a bit of a rumbling noise coming from around the GBOX area on my vit in two wheel drive havent tried in 4 yet..Only happens around about the 20-40 range anything above that mph its as smooth as a whistle..

Everything underneath seem's ok.Im going to drop the oil and put some fresh in to it..

However i assume the lack of grease on the uj's would cause vibration, rumbling?? I will re-grease the prop's aswell..

Any other ideas chap's??

Gav, you need to get that rear diff swapped over asap mate before you do anything else, the gearbox had new oil init just before you bought the car off me so it won't be that.

Rabbit does the same if the FWHs are locked, in my case the front diff is shot. Really must get round to doing that.
I must confess the the activities of the UK governments for the past couple of years have been watched with frank admiration and amazement by Lord Vetinari. Outright theft as a policy had never occured to him.
