Hi Simon, http://www.mm4x4.com/ do one for £133 but I've seen then on the bay for alot less new/recon.

I did find the S/H one on the bay though. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/range-rover-v8-efi-air-flow-meter_W0QQitemZ150161566333QQihZ005QQcategoryZ31349QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Cheers.

How are you Pete.

Land Rover is in the garage as the mechanic is getting a price for the part (new/recon). Apparently the problem of starting was down to some vacuum part, and the air flow meter. I just hope he is also watching ebay! I will find out tomorrow how much the part will cost!  :sobsob:

Not too bad thanks.

Here's a link to help you with the running of your D90, The website is for the Ginetta G33 but it has got a shed load of info on the Rover V8 and lucas injection system, including the proper lucas diagnostic sheets. With those it's possible to test every part of the injection system from the ecu multiplug with a mutimeter. http://www.g33.co.uk/fuel_injection.htm

Still sitting down after being told how much a new Air Flow Meter cost’s!!!

Apparently I need a ‘Lucas 2AM Air Flow Meter’ (flapper – with the curved back for 3.5L V8 EFI Petrol, Less Catalyst), part number ERC 9127.
Had a quick look on ebay, but couldn’t see the same one? Any ideas?
Apparently Land Rover sell them for £700 (now laying on the floor)!!!!!!   :sobsob:  :sobsob:  :sobsob:  :sobsob:

Try the wanted section of the forum

That or keep trying ebay, if you have the space a complete mid to late 1980's range rover suitable for spares can be had for a few hundred.

Hi J94,

That's me bidding on the 2AM meter on Eblag. I only want it for a spare (and I've noticed that they've left the trunking on, which, if put back on Ebay, would help to pay for the meter.)

You need seems greater than mine, matey, so if you want it, I'll stop bidding!! It's on £31 at present, and I paid £44 for one the other week, so fill yer boots!

If it turns out not to be the right one, PM me and I'll buy it off you (assuming you're successful   )

Cheers

Hi Porksarnie

In this day and age, its nice to know that there are still people who are generally willing to help another person. I really appreciate your offer mate, at the moment my new toy is a little poorly, so this meter would mean so much to her!

If it doesn’t cure the problem, then I will certainly PM you (I hope it does cure it)!

Again many thanks, and your offer is much appreciated!

Aren’t the people on Mud Club great!!!!!

Finished work late, so wasn’t sure if my bid was high enough! But luckily It was, so hopefully in a few days time, the Landy should run as it should!

Thanks Richard much appreciated.  =D>  =D>  =D>  =D>

Holy snot, for £150 you could probably buy a second hand Hot-Wire system and retro-fit that.  Far more reliable (my LSE runs without the MAF connected).

RRB, is that easy to do? (as I'm not fantastic with spanners)

The problem with my current MAF and intake is that I had a massive LPG backfire, which caused it to go the way of the dodo!

Rich

p.s. Well done Simon for grabbing the meter off Eblag. Now you'll just have to coax all the grime off it and keep your fingers crossed!  :P

It's relatively easy to do if you get the full system as it is separated from the rest of the loom.

You need the inlet manifold and plenum, MAF and airbox, the full loom and ECU then a bit of rewiring (not hard) and it should be ok.  Others on here have done it recently too but Blue has been converted since before we got it and it still runs ok.
