My power steering is leaking badly, from the input shaft. Have just bought a box, pump and all the bits from ebay, so....... how hard is it to change the box??? The drop arm looks like potential grief......

How long is a peice of string? 4 big boolts hold the box to the chassis, 1 pinch bolt on the UJ and 3 pipe unions.

So not a lot? took me all damn day

The box is heavy and awkward, lifting it in and out is a b***er on your own and if you have air conn it's even worse.

Drop arm? once you get the box off, hopefully you took the drop arm nut off at the bigging   then pick up your biggest hammer and vent your frustration on that drop arm, mine came off with 1 good swing  .

thought so, although the box I bought has a drop arm on it, I wondered if it would go on complete? And yes, it has aircon!
Thanks for that,
Dave

I had to take mine out complete but that was without airconn.  IIRC I had to drop the Panhard rod out of the way though.
