It's Back! Sort of :(
« on: March 27, 2007, 21:47:13 »
Well The Rabbit runs and doesnt sound like a tank anymore. Bumper is on, few things need tightening and thanks to Gen-X for pointing me in the right direction to turn it from a flame thrower into an engine again.

Bar the bit where someone has stolen my rad she's almost ready to play again :)

Just new rad needed and some wiring replacing in the light clusters.
I must confess the the activities of the UK governments for the past couple of years have been watched with frank admiration and amazement by Lord Vetinari. Outright theft as a policy had never occured to him.

It runs and it drives! YAY. Rough as a badgers behind though, doesnt start right on ocasion and wont idle without stalling. Investigation shows that one of the HT leads has fallen apart and I suspect the timing is out just a wee bit. Sounds like spark is happening too early or bang on TDC. Will get her timed up at the weekend.

Needed to make a new wiring harness to get my lights working on the rear too. Just need to bolt the bumpr on, scavenge a plastic clip from somewhere (lost the one that was on her despite putting it someplace safe), pop free-wheels on, get two bulbs and a number plate then its MOT on Monday.

Oh, and I need to remove the 2' X 5' x6" clot of mud thats lodged from the back of the t-case to the front of the front diff :)

MOT to go yet in 4 hours time :)

Not happy with the way she's runnint atm. Timing was WAAAAY out and given how she runs now, it has been for a while. Still very choppy at idle though.
