VITARA PURCHASE??
« on: February 05, 2007, 15:12:36 »
My mate comes greenlaning with me a lot and he enjoys it so much he is looking at getting a 4x4 of his own, he has hatched a cunning plan....his car must be 'SWMBO friendly' as he has a company car and she will need to use it during the day, so a defender 90 is out of the question.  He thinks a Vitara soft top (not a fat boy one) might be the best of both worlds and something she won't mind him buying and she won't mind about people seeing her in it!!  I have no experience whatsoever with Suzukis apart from I hired one in Greece once and took it off roading    He has about £1000 to spend and in the future wants to lift it a bit and put some bigger tyres on, so the questions.....

What can he get for £1000

What should he look out for as goes any faults

How easy are they and how much will a suspension lift cost him (in parts only)

What size of tyres can he get without a lift on

+ any other useful information we might need to know

Thanks

There are a couple in the for sale section at the moment. £1000 should buy quite a late one. If he is looking at something that might get scratched/dented, he should have plenty of choice under £500. That would leave some budget for toys  :D
