Hi,

whilst listening to one of the local stations (for the traffic reports) they have a discussion topic each day - todays happened to be about parking charges for 4X4s (and other large cars - not really mentioned tho') in richmond who are going to charge them 3 times the ordinary cost.

despite the woman radio presenter trying desperately to get a load of people critizising 4WDs by going on about gas guzzlers - all she got was a load of people saying 'its a free country - if people drive them,what is the problem', upon asking if they own a 4WD, the majority said no, with a bloke saying 'but i am going to buy one' and those that did pointing out that their 4Wds had smaller footprints and less emissions than a lot of cars!

it was really funny to hear this woman trying to get people to slag off 4WDs and failing miserably - she only managed one text message against them!

and in fact one woman who lived in the richmond area came on and said that in fact, despite the council saying that the ratepayers supported this move, the ratepayers had no say in the matter and most of them don't support this at all.

it was good to hear on radio how most people feel - and it is not what the government and ramblers believe.
