hi diddy
welcome to the mad world of offroading!!
if your going to trailer ur suzuki to offroad sites you dont need any mot/tax or insurance m8y
if you plan to do some green lanes then it wud have to be totally road legal as greenlanes are public rights of way so it wud be as if your driving down a normal road
hope this helps ya

Deffo get a zuke, they are the billies!

Try an Admiral Mulit Vehicle Insurance Quote..... I did the Pass@ & Zuke at the weekend and for both they are £ 63 more than just the Pass@ is right now....

Diddy
An SJ or Vitara is the cheapest way for you
I just paid £300 for a Tidy soft top Vitara, 10 months MOT, CD player, leccy windows central locking, imobaliser, stuck a £40 set of second hand mud tyres on it and its like a mountain goat.
Vitaras are better to drive on the road, more comfort
Remember it will come in handy even if you never use it

I trailer my Zuke to trials and fun days, definately the way to go, a standard Zuke with mud tyres will do anything a 90 can do and more, for much less cash.
The advantage of taking it on a trailer is that if you break something you're not stuck for getting home.

Transfer box mounts on SJ's are a weak point but can be replaced with LR90 engine mounts for very little cash (they just need a bit of trimming to fit) I have them fitted to the transfer box and have also replaced the standard engine mounts with them (also a fairly weak point)
BTW the Land rover part no is ANR1808 about £2.60 from here
