OME is nice ,............ if you can afford it !

I sell shocks .
Rough country nitro gas charged.
standard,+2" or +5" @£39.99
The shock towers are direct replacement for the usuualy rotted standard ones and are stronger.(well mine are) and can be made to any length.
I know some fit them to give more droop travel and some to accomodate longer shocks.
They can be used with OE springs and shocks as  directreplacement.

I would reccomend if fitting the +5"s to fit decent length cones, check straps (I dont care who makes the shock, for what straps cost they do save shocks) and an A-frame spacer as with the droop travel you will have you will find the A- frame can bind against the axle. With a lift this also allows the diff nose angle to be returned.
Mine has 2 sets of holes for standard and lifted (upto +5" lift)

I keep fitting ProComp. I can't see why anyone would want to pay 3 times as much for the same thing :?

BTW, do any of you find that with a rear shock more than plus 2" it bottoms out before the axle hits the bump stops?

So you say Dave, but I give mine alot of hammer on the racer and they keep coming back for more and they have a lifetime guarantee as long as your not racing on them!

What inch springs are you using with the + 5 shocks
does it higher the vehicle putting the + shocks or just give
more travel

Longer shocks only increase travel not ride height .
You could fit springs or spacers to boost this .
It depends on what you plan on adding to and doing with the vehicle.
If you want to fit bigger tyres then a lift is probably a good idea but with this comes other issues.
You may need to look at castor correction and prop shafts.
Some folks are lucky and get away with it.
I find most lifted LRs need castor correction but re props it seems its more down to the condition of the prop (UJs).
I have a 3" lift on my 90 with standard props and have not had any problems. Some folk find that a worn UJ will cause vibration others dont . Its a bit of a "try it and see" game.

If its just for a bit of laning and light playing then probably just working on articulation (longer shocks, Cranked arms etc) and fitting some standard size muds.
This wont affect he handling other than maybe some minor tyre noise ( I had BFG muds and they were no different on road but made a world of difference off.

If its for serious playing then a 2" lift and some bigger tyres will give you more room under the diffs and a greater breakover, approach and departure angles. You will also want to consider guards for the steering arms and diffs. I would also suggest getting one for the fuel tank if you plan on using areas with rocks etc as its easy for one to dent/puncture the tank.

You can go higher with +3" springs and even spacers but this starts to really upset the geometry and cause no end of expense !
