Vogue SE A, original spec anyone?
« on: August 20, 2006, 00:52:50 »
Hi,

On the V5 for my 1990 Classic Range Rover, it is described as a "Vogue SE A". Does anyone happen to know what this spec actually means? (I assume that the 'A' is for Automatic)

Cheers.
Rob.

Mine was full leather, leccy mirrors, windows and seats (mirrors heated but not the seats).
Air con.
Metallic and Micatellic paint
3.9 Efi with slushbox through a borg warner viscous transfer box
I'm sure there's more

Hi Rob

Being 1990 Should have Leather.electric:- seats, windows, sunroof, mirrors(heated) CL, metallic paint, heated front and rear screens.

Air con, cruse control, auto dim rear view mirror may have been options at this time (standard 1991 onwards)

Yes A is for auto

AFAIK SE means special equipment, so they can come with a wide variety of options depending what the original owner wanted.

Could be wrong though :?

Yep I reckon you're right.

I forgot the heated front screen!

The auto dipping interior mirror, cruise and heated seats were std for the 1991 MY I think along with anti-roll bars either then or '92. 1991 would be the same year that the LT77S took over from the older LT77 where specified.
Cheers

Well the options mine has are:

Full leather
Electric mirrors (not sure if they're heated)
Electric windows
Electric Seats (not heated)
Electric Sunroof
Central Locking
Air con
Metallic Paint
Borg Warner transfer box
Cruise control
Heated washer jets (well, they have power cables!)
Heated front and back screen (though my front screen has been replaced with a non-heated version at some point)
Auto dim rear view mirror

I think the 'Overfinch' options are:
Colour coded front and rear bumpers, front valance and wing mirrors
Recaro brown/cream leather seats
Overfinch Alloys
Momo steering wheel
Orange Overfinch dials
Twin rear shocks and anti-roll bar
Twin steering dampers
Lowered suspension
570 Hsi engine (Chevy ZZ4 350 cu inch with Overfinch injection)

(it also has a saggy headlining, but I think that comes as standard   )

Also, the drivers electric seat controls have a green button and a '1' and a '2' button - any idea what these are? I wondered if they were 'memory' settings, but I can't find any mention of them in the handbook.

The original question was just because I was curious to know what options were 'Vogue' and which 'SE'.

Thanks for all your replies  :D

Yes, set your seat where you want, then press and hold the green button plus 1 or 2, that sets it.

To recall your memory, with the car in Park or the ignition off and driver's door opem, press 1 or 2 momentarily and the seats/mirro should go to town.  If it just jerks and inch then stops the memory unit is goosed.

P.S. a lot of the 'option' you listed are standard on all RR models, depending on year, the entry level car was still a luxury motor.

Memory seats were not standard until 1992 so you have new seats in there.

Not suprising though as most of us tend to add a little something that suits us.

Yes...that figures, I was told the seats were part of the Overfinch upgrade in '96. I just can't understand why anyone would have spent sooo much money on a 6 year old vehicle  :o

btw, thanks Garth & RRB, the memory seats work fine  :)  :)

Why would anybody spend so much money making a 4X4 vehicle that was originally designed to get covered in mud (inside and out) go so dammed fast and look so pretty

Because they can :D  :D (Lucky b*****ds)
