Hi,
    I bought a 2.5 di Ford engine w/ a series 3 adapter plate to go in my series 2a will it fit on my gear box or will I have to change my gearbox also/ :shock:

all the series ii/iia/iii gearboxes are interchangeable, although they might have different clutch assemblies

they are defnatly the same stud pattern
stick with the one you have, you shouldnt have any problems
series 3 - 200tdi

the clutch mechanisms are different, and are on opposite sides, assuming that what you say you have is actually what you have (I only say this because I know how much Landy's can change over the years without you having any knowledge).  If they are different either change the bellhousing, or the gearbox.

The bellhousing is different on 2.25 vehicles compared to 2.6, so be awae of that one.
