Which wire is the high beam wire
« on: January 05, 2006, 21:39:34 »
Hi All

I am about to fit some Light Force spot lights (xmas present from my wife). I have all the relay and switch cabling but I am unsure how to identify which wire is the high beam wire which I can scotch-loc into for the relay.

Could anyone tell me the best way to locate the high beam wire (or the colour of it), better still does anyone have a picture of where they have connected this wire for spot lights?

I have a TD5 90 if thats any help.

Thanks
Phil

On the back of the bulb the pins would be:

             1

       2          3

Pin 2 is the live feed to the main beam.

Sorry that is not very technical, but hopefully makes sense

Thanks,

I wanted to put the connection behind the steering wheel as the switch is going to near by but I guess the wires will be the same colour so I should be able to trace it back to behing the streeing wheel I guess.

Thanks

If your taking it from back there, why not trace it from the fuse box end

Older British cars tend to use a blue/white wire for main beam feed. Blue/red for dipped beam. Not sure of the specifics for yours though.
