Just a thought but does a Rover V8 require and expansion tank as my series dosen't have one just has the standard rad?

Apparently so Trouble........

Instructions in my fitting kit say to use standard Landie Rad with a fitting brazed in top neck for leak off to expansion tank.............

Doesn't tell you how though !!

well my rad has a blow off thing in the neck so surely you could just put a cap on with the springy bit not in and use that as a take off to an expansion bottle?

I will try it I have an old expansion bottle off a sunbeam i could use

Yep you do need an expansion tank, it gives the water from the radiator somewhere to go rather than being dumped overboard.

The v8 runs hotter than the smaller engines and I've found that there is quite a bit of water transfer between the radiator and expansion tank on heating up/cooling down.
