Title: Battery Light on when switched off
Post by: TOM on May 22, 2005, 17:02:56
My battery light is on when the ignition key is off and goes out as soon as the key is turned on it goes out.

Can anyone explain what may be happening?

i would suspect the alternator is at fault and allowing current tthrough to the charge light

I wouldnt buy a new one - go to your local lucas/bosch agent who will probably fix it for around £30

I did with mine!

Generally when the ignition light stays on , then one of the diodes in the altenator is shot.
A good auto eleccie will fix it fairly cheaply.
