Also as posted to DOC but may get some more views here....
I probably need to get some new tyres for the MOT and was thinking about changing to steel wheels at the same time. I am particularly thinking about getting black steel - I have seen Wolf & the modulars that Paddock supply amongst others. I am also planning on going up to 245/75R16 as a new tyre size.
I was wondering if anyone has any good/bad manufacturers to mention or any recomendations. Cheers.

You need new nuts, if you're on alloys that is.
-
You could always try reversing the original steel wheels and painting them black, works for me !
-
does that give you much more stability? i was looking at them extenders at scorpion but i aint paying that much, not a bad idea, do you have any problems doing it that way?
-
Have you cut and reversed the centres or just turned the wheel round???...
the latter isn't exactly safe....

Just what I was going to ask.
It would need a damn good (accurate) welder to do it safely

nope
Amazon MT retreads 235 x75 r16 (i think)
Nice tread, reinforced sidewalls and direction pattern.
-
They'll be 70 Taz.
I wish they made the same tyre (tread) in an 85.
The grip on the Amazons is unbeleivable.

You can get 235/85R16 in the Greenway Macho I believe Ed

The Greenway are only rated to 87mph. Might be a problem with the insurance on a Disco. The Technic Amazons are 100mph.
