Title: have read the other ABS thread , just wondered.
Post by: wingnut1 on October 23, 2011, 13:08:52
as per usual the ABS is playing up again, i expect its the air gaps.
having seen the price of the hawkeye system, they can stick that somewhere where the sun dont shine !.
i wondered if anyone has found any other OBD readers that can do basic jobs like the ABS.
looking on e-blag there appears to be quite a few that say they will do landrover ABS.
can anyone shine any more light on this please.

on a 300? thought you could attached a short to a connector and a LED flashed the ABS fault code. Havea search on forums. But 'air gaps', just push all the sensors in as far as they go and when wheels turn they get pushed back out to the correct position.

To clear the faults you need a paper clip.

To diagnose them you need a paper clip and a pair of eyes.

There's a relay you are supposed to pull out, but I don't need to on ours  (RRC), you just watch the ABS sensor light blink and count the blinks, then look up the codes on-line.

What Andy ^ said.  On a 300 the abs diagnostic socket and relay is down in the passenger footwell behind the facia. (iirc it's a 9 pin plug with about 5 wires.)

Try taping all your sensors down.

That worked for me
