Title: 200tdi brake problems

can anyone help, i have just replaced my brake pads in my 200 as one set had worn out, altho they still work spot on they just grinded, had to easy two callipers back arfter cleaning the brake dust off them. gone to bleed up all ok nice firm paddle. that is until i turn the engine on then i get peddle travel when you hold the brake on the foot. so far ive had the systerm under pressure and cant find any leeks or dampness any where, no fluid in master cylinder the pipe to it is sucking air ok. i have run approx 2ltr of fluid through the pipes and has got a little better than before just not 100% has anyone got any better ideas as to wot might be the problem or where to look now or should i just keep bleeding the systerm.

The peddle will drop a bit when you start the engine, that show the servo is operating.
If it goes all the way to the floor then the master cylinder is shot.

hi wizard, if the master cylinder was shoot wouldnt fluid travel around the seal even when the engine off,  :undecided: also would the servo fill with fluid. :undecided:

Usually when a master cylinder starts to fail the fluid will pass the seals and as you said end up in the servo, or depending on which master cylinder you have fitted, it just circulates in the system.
