Post by: thediscodude on July 01, 2011, 13:37:34

I work that out to be 10 MPG on a 300tdi? ouch.

what's it start up and drive like? power like? much smoke? service include checking valve clearances? Anti tamper tell tales still intact on injection pump?

Check out the injector return pipe- the flexible pipe that links all the injectors together,   I had similar mpg when mine went.

Also does the truck drive ok? Correct amount of power?

Hell's teeth, my 5.0l V8 LSE is better than that!

It can't be burning all that fuel, it must be leaking somewhere and that would worry me as well as my wallet.

Look underneath for leaks and drips and check the oil for fuel in the crankcase.

did you swap injectors, pump etc between the oild and new engines?  did you see the new lump running before buying
