Going spare, even landrover cant get me the correct paint ! its Chalton white BUT there are 3 shades , ive tried each shade BUT none match... any ideas were or what i can try ?
-
got same problem mate in the end i use a halford shelf colour that was nearest i could get think it was a ford or mazda colour but cant remember name
-
halfords did have the right paint code - BUT had 3 different ones to try - none matched....
-
Had a similar problem with mine, luckily I was repainting wheels so the fact that the Halfords custom-mix was slightly darker than the bodywork didn't matter too much. I plan to give the whole thing a good going-over with T Cut if I ever get around to sorting the scrappy paintwork in the corners, which should help blend it together.

Only 3 versions of the paint code? That quite good actually!!
My mate has a car spraying business and for almost all car colours there can be up to 20 different shades!! Some even more!!
The only way he can match is with a decent light and the paint cards next to the panel.

we have a place over here called ketts, if you give them the code under the bonnet they will mix it up for you, dont know if you could do that?
-
yup ive done that at halfords and they had three ' paints' for that code - nothing matched ! flipping landrover... grrr....
-
it all depends on what primer you use grey will give you a darker finnish than white primer
-
another variable is the age of the paint you are trying to match as it will have degraded over time. best bet as already mentioned would be to match by eye not by code.
-
theres a local place near us iff you take a fuel filler lid or something small they will match it from that , i tried halfords for windjammer blue . common colour but couldnt find it . not under l/rover . think it was b/l or rover . alan..
