At this years MOT we discovered that the o/s/r section of chassis on the Td5 was starting to corrode quite badly, along with the brake lines, such that the examiner stated that it wouldn't pass another test.
Had a bit of a faff with trying to find someone to do the job (won't let just anyone touch the old girl you know!!), but ultimately went to Douglass Motors, just off the end of the M45 outside Coventry.
They had the car for a week and in that time cut out the offending piece of chassis, fitted replacement from an '04 donor, removed sliders, cleaned and painted sills (which were in good nick apparently  ) and replaced brake pipes with copper ones (the originals were not very well). All the underside and inside of the chassis have been well and truely waxoiled, so I should not have a problem any time soon.
Not the cheapest garage in the world, but have done a cracking job on all fronts, and very knowledgable and friendly to boot.
Now back on the road knowing that the next MOT will be a breeze . . . . 8)
