Ordered a tailored storage box for the back of Daisy. It came from an eBay shop metallicsuk. Very helpful guy who is happy to take on custom work as well as his standard range. This is based on one of his truck side boxes, but sized to my requirements with a chamfer at the back to sit it into the barrel side. Very heavy duty hinges and latch.
The lid stays are my addition.... Mini boot lid straps, but work perfectly.

I wanted the side opening so I can add tie down loops to the top of the box and still access the recovery gear when I've got stuff stowed on top.

that looks really good, was it expensive?

hmmm bit of charcoal in a side section, chimney......

£100 including delivery. I thought very reasonable.

Ignore me, I have fantasy of having a combined hobo oven/heater in the truck with a chimney when I become a homeless hippy - that box looks like a smoker oven.
For the amount of work involved in fabrication of that box I think you got off very lightly for £100 - total bargain for sure. The front opening reminds me of those fb MOD kit boxes that you see adorned in some trucks.
barebox (http://www.barebox.co.uk) are another source for value for money storage solutions where you tailor the end product to suit trucks environment.

Ignore me........
I did :P
Barebox weren't offering custom sizes when I last asked.

I had a long ammo box in the back of my Ltwt years ago. A simple hasp lock meant stuff would stay in it when the vehicle went over and I could also boil a kettle on it. Bolted it to the wheel arch. Well worth it.
Like the piccies but would want some way to safely and securely add more stuff around it without flying around when you go over a pot hole at the wrong speed. 8-[ still, looks good though doesn't it :D :D
Thanks for the link :)

It's bolted to the wheel arch and now has stainless steel eyes (about
