I seem to have develped a rather worrying vibration of my 300tdi Disco
While I accelerate between 25-30mph I get a real bad vibration, like going over rumble strips!
It's fine at other speeds and it's only whilte accelerating.
Any idea's??
Thanks
Jim

Check your prop-shaft U/J's, mine did that exact same thing a couple of weeks ago, alternatively has a wheel balance weight been knocked off, have a quick look around for any shiny spots on the rims.
Hope you get it sorted quickly.

I suspect prop shaft - is if just a matter of greasing it up??
Sorry for the basic questions!! 8-[

No M8, if it is indeed the prop youll need to take it off and change the UJ as the bearings will prob be Toast inside the caps
easy test is to lay under the car and see if the front prop moves up down left or right?? cos it shouldnt lol
having said that I changed mine the other day and the yoke was jammed solid

Just been under the Disco, there's a lot of play in the fron prop, so looks like the UJ

awesome!!

check the donut on the rear prop, specialy if you have lifted it

was gonna throw in a suggestion check for mud on inside wheel rim but looks solved.
Anyone else had that though? Had once with Welsh Severn estuary mud on the rims, felt like wheels where coming loose. Had to pull over and use pokey things to get glue like clay off. Never experienced it in any other muddy escapade.
-
I've heard about big clods of mud on the inside of the rim causing a problem, its never happened to me though.

Another vote for the rubber do-nut - see what it's like as they go all shredded which gives you loads of vibrations and horrible noise...

Let me know if you get stuck Jim, I've done a couple of theses now lol

If the doughnut it shredded then check inside the prop for the rubber support bearing (if runs on the spigot in the nose of the diff), these often get overlooked but are essential to the true running of the rubber joint, unlike the old Rotaflex found on british sports cars.
