when i drive in a stright line no noise when i turn right i get this clicking sound think its from the NS front if it is the bearings are they easy to do??????????

that sounds like a cv joint to me

clicking is normally a cv joint,if it was rumbling & then went away goin round a corner id say it was bearings

aah see now my disco did lots of clicking when turning and i thought it was the cv but turned out to be a partially seized wheel bearing

The thing is if its a case of stripping the thing down anyway, its worth doing both jobs, bearing and cv, obviously if you can strip and then get the parts all well and good

so the only why i will know is to strip down the hub and have a look how will i know what part is knackerd and is it an easy job???

Fairly straight forward, the hardest part is tapping out the bearing racers, or if the bearing is stuck onto the stub

If the bearing is stuck on the stub you'll probably need a new one. As stated above bearings tend to rumble when they're going but if you jack up the wheel and give the tyre a kick you might hear it knocking if there is excessive play. Adjust the bearings to see if that changes anything. Otherwise it's the hub off, stub axle off and withdrw the CV joint. you should be able to feel any excessive wear in the CV just by spinning it in your hands. Be careful though, it's often not the side you think it is!

O boy how stupid am i just jacked the car up and bearings ok started to spin the wheel and heard this grinding sound so poped my head under and NO the sound is coming from the diff OMG then looked at the prop and a bolt is sticking out from the exhust and catching the prop moved the bolt round problem solved
