I have just got a 24 spline rear axle for my rangie mine has 12 spline on front and rear if i put the compleat rear on will i need to change the front to match

It won't be a problem, cos it's not the number of splines that matter but the ratio of the diff. All rangerover diffs are 4.7 ratio as standard I believe

3.54:1 for RRC (4.7 are series vehicles)

does the same apply if it's off a disco

You can use RRC, Disco 1, 90/110, Defender (upto about 1994, I think) except salisbury axles. All have same final drive ratio of 3.54:1 and 10 spline diffs. I think they changed to 24 spline diffs on change to 300 TDi in 1994.
Hope this helps
